I’ve been idling over buying one of the world famous Moleskine sketchbooks for quite a while, and always thought that at around £12 in most bookshops they were a little too expensive for just a sketchbook of moderate size. But then I happened to stumble upon them for sale on Amazon.co.uk for a mere £4.80! That’s almost three of these sketchbooks for the price of one.
I thought that it might be worth a shot in getting one of the sketchbooks and see how good they really are. First impressions strike me that the Sketchbook is well put together, and the design of the spine allows the book to be opened full out for the best possible use. The hardcover is strong and feels solid to the touch. There is an elastic ‘band’ (for want of a better word) which keeps the book closed and within the inside of the back cover is a pocket for storing whatever you wish!
The paper is of high quality, around the normal weight you would expect from a sketch book yet with a smooth texture. Marker pens don’t bleed as much as you would expect but still show through to the underside of the paper. The paper is an off white colour with a little yellow which makes for a nice change from the average white sketchbook. Pencils and pens glide over the surface with ease.
This seems like a great little sketchbook, and i’m sure i’ll enjoy adding my thoughts and ideas to it’s beautifully bound pages. So if you fancy getting your hands on one of these, then they’re only £4.80 on Amazon.co.uk
